About Christopher

Christopher Ray is a talented composer and arranger for symphony orchestra, wind ensemble, and marching band, passionate about creating music that inspires and uplifts. As a young musician, Christopher has already made a significant impact in the world of music, with a notable highlight being the premiere of his original composition "Realm of Aspiration" by the James Martin High School Wind Ensemble on May 15, 2024.

As a dedicated member of the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra, Christopher has had the opportunity to hone his skills alongside other talented young musicians from the region. With this group Christopher had the opportunity to participate in the 2024 Fort Worth Youth Orchestra International Tour throughout Spain, visiting and performing in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Llíria, Tarragona, and Valencia. This experience has not only deepened his understanding of orchestral music but also instilled within him a sense of camaraderie and teamwork.

In addition to his work with the youth orchestra, Christopher has also participated in the UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest, where he has showcased his talents as a soloist and collaborator and received superior ratings. This experience has helped him develop his skills in both performance and arrangement, allowing him to bring new ideas and perspectives to his music.

Currently, Christopher is pursuing an undergraduate degree in Music Composition at the University of Texas at Austin, where he can continue to refine his craft under the guidance of esteemed faculty members, such as award-winning composers Donald Grantham, and Omar Thomas. This academic journey will allow him to explore various musical styles and genres, from classical to contemporary, and will allow him to compose music for a wide range of ensembles and mediums.

Throughout his career, Christopher has had the privilege of performing at some of the most prestigious musical facilities in Texas, including the Meyerson Symphony Center, Bass Performance Hall, and numerous other venues throughout the state, as well as the Banda Primitive de Llíria in Spain. These performances have not only allowed him to share his music with diverse audiences but also to learn from other musicians and gain valuable experience in the industry.

With his unique blend of technical skill, creativity, and passion for music, Christopher is an emerging talent in the world of classical music. As he continues to compose and arrange new works, he is sure to leave a lasting impression on audiences everywhere.
